Every so often, I’ll see someone on Twitter mention that they’re bored on a train or on a plane or on a bus or in an airport terminal. That’s a very dangerous thing to say around me because I love telling stories. Here’s an example of what happens:
@GeekRemixALot You are on a train. There is a door to the north, a door to the south, and a window to the west. What do you do?

@GeekRemixALot You enter the Cigar Room. Three badgers sit in armchairs. A pull cord on the wall says “Do not pull.” There is a door north. — Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 9, 2014
@GeekRemixALot The badgers look at you curiously, then grumble and blow smoke in your general direction. What do you do?
— Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 9, 2014
@GeekRemixALot An inflatable dinghy begins filling the room at an alarming rate. The badgers flee north. There is a window east. What to do? — Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 9, 2014
@GeekRemixALot You enter the Greenhouse, lined with plants. No badgers in sight. A cricket looks up, says “You’re not supposed to be here.”
— Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 9, 2014
@GeekRemixALot The cricket says “I don’t care, just don’t touch my plants!” There’s a door to the north, a window to the west. Also, plants. — Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 9, 2014
@GeekRemixALot You dive through the window! Luckily the train is moving south and you land in the inflatable dinghy. You are now lost at sea

@GeekRemixALot You find 3 boxes labeled “Open in case of emergency”, “Open in case of panic”, and “Open in case of despair”. And a candy bar — Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 9, 2014
@GeekRemixALot You have acquired Fishing Pole, Laser Pointer, Magnifying Glass, and Ornate Silver Key. The dinghy floats west.
— Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 9, 2014
@GeekRemixALot You feel a tug on the line! — Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 10, 2014
@GeekRemixALot You reel in the line to find a locked Wooden Chest snagged on the Ornate Silver Key. The dinghy floats southwest.
— Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 10, 2014
@GeekRemixALot You use Ornate Silver Key on Wooden Chest. It unlocks. The chest is full of pirate treasure! But you’re still lost at sea. — Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 10, 2014
@GeekRemixALot You see water to the west, a bridge to the east. Upon the bridge there is a train. The train looks familiar. You float SW.
— Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 10, 2014
@GeekRemixALot A cloud of vapor rises from the box and surrounds you. You feel a lot calmer now. You also find a Snowglobe and a Big Magnet. — Nonadecimal (@Nonadecimal) July 10, 2014
@GeekRemixALot The snowglobe is full of a tiny labyrinth full of tiny people. There’s also some scattered snowdrifts.

She’s set the record for surviving the longest on one of my Twitter adventures, which is no small feat. I just wish she’d opened the third box.
Be careful what you say on Twitter the next time you get bored or you could be the next soul lost at sea…
